So what are you suggesting, Joe? That I shouldn't give priority to
"other commitments and business" (i.e. the work I'm actually paid to do)
over the time I spend free of charge on maintaining htdig? That's not
your call to make. It's also not my call how Geoff spends his time.
The fact is, putting together a 3.1.7 release would take a lot of my time
and Geoff's. I'm not going to commit to it unless Geoff is also willing,
so it is still an "if".

The recommendation I made in early February still stands. I still
think it's a wise course of action. That doesn't mean I've committed
my time or Geoff's to it, and it doesn't mean I have a firm schedule
in mind. In fact, it's still a month *or so* since I wrote that,
and bug reports are still coming in. (We just nailed one down last
Friday, if you recall.) There are still coding decisions to be made,
like how to handle use_doc_date effectively, rather than the kludge
we have now. I'm not about to rush out another half-baked release,
only to have to fix it up in a later 3.1.8 release. The 3.1.7 code
is very solid, and only the new features have some problems with them.
Nothing that can't be worked around by anyone who's determined enough.
There's no big emergency here.
