I think the idea is that H2's sequencer would then control LinuxSampler
via MIDI, and the drumkits would be "somehow" migrated to LinuxSampler's
format (which I think is GIG).  Thus, the H2's instrument editor becomes a
frontend for libgig (or something).

Yeah.  But I think LinuxSampler is already ported to those platforms. 
However, I don't like LinuxSampler's license.  In fact, if H2 depends on
LinuxSampler, I think that puts us in non-free, and it can't be used in
things like Trinity Audio's device.

Well, throwing out another idea:  H2 is "pattern-based sequencing."  We've
also talked about ideas for improving that interface.  What if we extend
it to "loop-based sequencing/sampling."  So, we can loop drum patterns or
trigger audio loops.  Then we have something much like Ableton Live (and
about as easy to use).

...again... just an idea.  Blue sky dreaming.
