STTIND (Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Industri ) padang dan UNP ( Universitas Negeri Padang), 2 kampus bergengsi di sumatera barat yang mewadahi program studi ilmu kebumian lewat program studi pertambangannya memfasilitasi kegiatan ini, peran kampus sangat penting dalam pengembangan kebumian yang ada di sumatera barat, kata Dian Hadiyansyah selaku ketua IAGI Pengda Sumbar dan kebetulan mengajar juga di prodi tenik pertambangan di STTIND Padang.
