I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into this issue of MP effect differences with the z/990 & z/9 book designs. In particular, it is well known that there is a cost associated with adding CP's because of the additional communication/coordination overhead, however ... how has this changed (if it is known)? For example, PR/SM apparently attempts to maintain CP affinity to the home book if possible ... in addition, there are the cross book issues when addressing memory. It seems that the MP effect on a book is going to be substantially different than the MP effect of cross book references.
Anyway ... any info would be appreciated Adam ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
