NYC is a good bet for Wall Stree firms and banks using mainframes
but the mainframes sure aren't in NYC. Most have move and
consolidated in various sub of NYC, like NJ. Several have moved
the physical operations overseas.

Rent is just to high in NYC to house computer rooms any longer.

American Express, Fla, AZ. as an example and did that a long time
ago.

I was exposed to a few (ex) AMEXCO types about 20 years ago. They
were so good that when they ordered the the CPU they didn't bother to
measure first. They had to end up getting a crane to lift it up to
the second floor and had to bust out some windows as well. This was
in the Meadowlands NJ. They chose not to move with AMEX, pity. And if
I am not mistaken AMEX moved to Salt Lake City.

Ed

ps: Made me wonder about having a AMEX card after that.
