Sure.. but you probably won't like it any better. 1) Use a system symbol for the volser. At least you can change the volser via symupdte or via IEASYMxx. Maybe define a pack or two that are just used for Linklst data sets that are not part of the mastercat / sysres.
2) Use your monitor (Omegamon, Tmon etc...) to do it dynamically. After the IPL 3) Concatenate your PROGxx member creating a member that only contains VOLSER'd linklst data sets... i.e. PROG=(P1,U1,AF,EX) P1 = LNKLST DEFINE, mastercat + sysres dsns U1 = volser'd non-mastercat / non-sysres datasets and the ACTIVATE LNKLST AF = APF EX = EXITS 4) Activate a new LINKLST after the IPL that includes the non-mastercat dsns (no volser needed). -Rob Schramm <snip> This e-mail transmission contains information that is confidential and may be privileged.
