--- Start of Idrisi List message Hello,

By the middle of 2001 I shall have finished my PhD. I have the possibility to get funding for a post-doctoral research abroad and thus I am looking for a place to conduct my work. Besides improving my English, my objectives are to pursue on the gratifying ways of spatial ecology modelling and geographic information systems. I would thus be glad to join any active group involved in this kind of research.

My main scientific interest is computer modelling. During my PhD I developed three different computer programs: the first was a decision-support tool for the management of culling, involving a local age-structured population dynamics model. The second was a GIS-oriented statistical toolkit designed to assess habitat suitability and potential range for any species, on the basis of environmental variables and species occurrences. The third built a link between the two firsts: it modelled spatial population dynamics using a cellular automaton approach.

If you think our interests are converging, please feel free to contact me and tell me about your research projects. You will find more detailed information below. Please feel free to forward this message to any potentially interested person.

Thanks for your kind attention,

                             Alexandre Hirzel
