I use standard nokia GPRS based mobile phone to access internet,
over Idea Delhi connection.. they provide it at a rate of 5Rs/day
(unlimited). The speed over GPRS is 5KBPS, with EDGE it reaches not more
than 8. But hell with their response time, check out this..

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ :-) ping google.com
PING google.com (64.233.167.99) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- google.com ping statistics ---
7 packets transmitted, 6 received, 14% packet loss, time 12672ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1208.074/1984.235/3463.965/706.933 ms, pipe 2

Note the packet loss..
Response time is nerver below 1000 ms. On Vodafone, the same is always
less than 700ms. I am not sure about Airtel and MTNL Dolphin.
But Idea works perfectly on roaming, it even provides access to GPRS
from some other operators on roaming circles of UP(E), as far as i know.
