And does not contain a code point for the new rupee symbol. There is a codepoint for the "Rs" glyps, but that cannot be replaced with the new rupee symbol because:- 1. That has to be decomposed as "R" and "s", in case the font does not ain the "Rs" glyph. 2. There are / may be locales which use the "Rs" rather than the new ee Symbol. Hence, the current discussions on the Unicode mailing lists, AFAI understand them, is that the new rupee symbol requires a new code point. -- Mahesh T.
