The problem isn't an IMAP problem. Or a sendmail problem. One peer is trying to initiate a SSL/TLS handshake while the other peer is not talking SSL/TLS at all. OpenSSL misconfiguration, I dare say. Not an issue for this list.
Can we now get back to talking about IMAP protocol issues? --Arnt
