I had accidentally removed the sort(ip) line... Its back. Just added Net::DNS support to find bad ptr's, I wanted to see. Same url. If you don't have net::dns or think its slow you can turn it off with config option at the top
Ex output.. The "bad ptr's" start with ! They show up as "unknown" in your maillogs =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D Report for: Jun 4 00:00:00 - Jun 4 10:32:43=20 smtpd_client_connection_rate_limit =3D 15 anvil_rate_time_unit =3D 1800 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D Anvil Reject UknUsr Recvd IP Address Hostname 3 3 3 15 64.40.98.27 !mta3a.dm-4.com 106 249 249 296 69.59.140.113 ipma.cadeei.com 155 104 104 462 69.59.140.120 ipma.daeefi.com 3 0 55 69.59.146.111 !m4.poidy.com =20 -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tom Baker | Netsmith Inc Sent: Friday, June 04, 2004 10:09 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMGate] Ghba.pl - postfix-2.2-20040504 http://home.bsc.net/imgate/ghba.pl.txt =20 Configurable columns, pretty fast, hardly any system calls ( postconf & awk just once) =20 I'm thinking of adding a call to Net::DNS or dig to lookup ptr records and display badptr vs unknown maillog only shows ptr's that also have matching A records. I have an smtp policy that I wrote that logs bad ptrs (PTR but no A) and I get quite a bit of them. Some of them are just accidents ( cox has a few subnets for their optical customers they have done that for ). =20 =20
