Agreed, raid 5 is fairly expensive in parity calculations anyway.
If you need the extra performance for mailboxes I would say 0+1 (len.. Do you have a 
reason against 0+1 ?)
The 9s definately two raid1's
And spread out that IO load as Len pointed out

the 3 main types of disk i/o for mail are logging, mailqueue, and mailbox, 
so spread those across separate controllers and disks.

no raid5, just raid1
