Call for Papers Theme: Human Subtitle: Language, Society, Culture Type: International Academic Conference Institution: Society 'Cultural Artefact' Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Daugavpils University Location: Online Date: 29.6.2020 Deadline: 26.6.2020 __________________________________________________ The International Academic Conference “Human: Language, Society, Culture” will be held as a Virtual Conference organized by the Society “Cultural Artefact” in cooperation with Daugavpils University Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (Latvia). The participants of the conference are invited to submit their proposals on the following themes: - Linguistic worldview: language and its sociolinguistic aspect - Society and sustainable development - Cultural memory and identity: aspects of folklore, literature, history and religion - Comparative cultural and literary studies We offer an opportunity to join our conference live via Zoom or send us your pre-recorded video via wetransfer.com. The participation fee includes an opportunity to present a paper as a talk (15 min for presentation and another 5 min for discussion), to publish a paper up to 5000 words in the “Journal of Comparative Studies”, Certificate for participation, and electronic conference programme. Submissions Abstract Submission Deadline: June 26, 2020 All abstracts are going to be selected according to double blind reviews. The abstract should be submitted as a separate file (.doc or .docx format) in English indicating the aim, significance, methodology and results of the research and it must be between 250-350 words. Within one week of receiving your proposal, we will send you an email notification of its acceptance or rejection. In order to receive an invoice on behalf of a company or organisation you must state this in advance. If the bank transfer is ordered by a natural person, it is not possible an invoice to a company or organisation to be issued afterwards. All bank charges and commissions are paid by the participants. Full papers Submission Deadline: July 29, 2020 Accepted papers will be published in the Journal of Comparative Studies. “Journal of Comparative Studies” is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal that promotes a broad conception of cultural studies in the field of humanities and social sciences. The main purpose of the journal is to publish original multidisciplinary papers dealing with issues of regional, national, international and global significance applying comparative methodology on all aspects of culture, including comparative cultural studies, comparative literature, language and contrastive linguistics, identity, cultural citizenship, migration, post-colonial criticism, consumer cultures. “Journal of Comparative Studies” has entered into an electronic licensing relationship with EBSCO Publishing and IC Journal Master List. Regarding the journal publication, there will be an additional review process.
