The Department of Philosophy offers BA, MA and PhD level education and is up to the standards of the best international institutions. CEU’s programs are accredited in the United States as well as in Europe. The position is located in Vienna, Austria. Further information about the department can be found here: https://philosophy.ceu.edu Duties and responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising BA, MA and PhD theses’ as the need arises. Administrative tasks at the departmental and the university level. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and regularly publish in major professional journals. CEU awards a fully paid sabbatical leave in every seventh year or half-year. Qualifications: A PhD in philosophy by the time they start the employment, with an open area of specialization. Have the ability to teach undergraduate courses in one of the following fields: ethics, environmental philosophy, non-western philosophy. Compensation: We offer a competitive salary as well as additional benefits (e.g., sabbatical system, pension plan). The initial contract is for 6 years. Contracts are renewable and can be turned into indefinite contracts depending on the outcome of a review.
