Call for Publications Theme: Building Social Cohesion through Interreligious Dialogue Publication: Edited Book Deadline: 1.2.2022 __________________________________________________ KAICIID is an international ands intergovernmental organization which comprises of member states of Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Austria. KAICIID is reputed globally in Inter Religious Dialogue (IRD). In November, a KAICIID 2021 International Fellow workshop was organized in conjunction with the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Port Harcourt, wherein thought provoking and well-researched papers were delivered. The papers presented are to be converted to an international publication. On this note, we are calling for more articles from intellectuals, religious scholars and leaders, faith practitioners, social scientists, educators, anthropologists, theologians, activists and others that are concerned with the issue of religious dialogue and social cohesion in a plural society. The theme of the book publication is “Building Social Cohesion through Interreligious Dialogue”. We are looking for more papers that will offer guidelines for interfaith conversations and dialogues. The aim and objectives of this publication are summarized thus: - Building social cohesion through interreligious dialogue - Promoting dialogue, understanding and sense of belonging and to work collaboratively in order to foster cultural, social, educational, and economic progress and justice. - To use the wisdom, principles, and teachings of the religions to strengthen democracy, eradicate poverty and violence in Nigeria, - To improve the country’s civil and political societies toward a more just community. - To work together through the ethics of coalition-building and interrelationality to produce constructive religious literature and curriculum and engage in sustaining interreligious advocacy and intervention. - To use the channel of interreligious dialogue and mutual understanding to prevent interreligious tensions, reduce death threats and violence. This book on Interreligious Dialogue will bring together researched works from religious scholars, specialists, and practitioners of different faith traditions that discuss the various complexities, problems, and solutions resulting from interreligious dialogue. This book project is to address how faith leaders and practitioners can unite to speak and act together and to build strong communities and improve the human condition for all citizens leading to the advancement of a truly democratic life and the safeguarding of religious rights and freedom. The following topics are guides: - Bridging differences and building sustainable society through interreligious dialogue - Overcoming hurts and hatred through Dialogue - Islamic Perimeter of interreligious dialogue - Christianity Perimeter of interreligious dialogue - African Traditional Religion Perimeter of interreligious dialogue - Regulating Religion in Diverse Societies - De-escalating Tensions and improving Understanding through religion - Learning to respect others religion - Living with others in Peace - Building a more peaceful, equitable and sustainable World Through Dialogue Instructions for the Authors: The publication attracts no fee. Papers must be submitted as MS Word format via the designated email address. The manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages. The papers should not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The Editorial board reserves the right to reject papers that do not address the theme and the aim of the publication. Submissions should be prepared using APA referencing style (7th Edition). Abstract along with a brief biography of the author(s) should be submitted on or before February 1st, 2022 to any of the under listed email addresses.
