        i agree with steve, also i admit 2553bis should be more explicit about
        what is supposed to work (i.e. should tell people that multicast does
        not work with IPv4 mapped address).

This is simply not true.  IPv4-Mapped is a representation of an IPv4
address that is all.  If you strip out the leading bits for IPv6 you
have left an IPv4 address whether its multicast or not.  

What does have to be responded to is the mappings for IPv6 Multicast to
IPv4 if an applications listens and sends to IPv4-Mapped and that
discussion is in process as part of the update to the api now.
