Walaikum asalaam

The FIRST sunnah of the Prophet(sallallahu alaihi wasalaam) was to
CONVEY AND OBEY THE MESSAGE OF ALLAH.

If we remember that, and move slowly from that starting point,
discerning his sunnah from the lies collected about him is not
difficult.  Therefrom we find unity.

Sincerity is the key.

JazakAllahu khairan, well said brother.
It is time we took this idea forward. we seem to stop just here and then go back to the same old argument we are oppressed and suppressed, we are minorities, we are suspected and we have to pacify the non Muslims. No we don't have to pacify anyone but please Allah alone. We should not fear anyone but fear Allah alone and have the total belief that Allah will give us victory if we do what He wants us to, in His way.
And we must WANT victory. We must WANT to live without oppression. We must WANT to be able to fight back terrorism- by the west going unabated, ironically  in the name of "abolition of terrorism".

The most important aspect is for  EVERYONE  to learn Islam as much as possible. We just fear that there are  different opinions and therefore we cannot be united. We sit in the outskirts of Islam and take different 'fathwas" and adhere to them without even knowing why they are given. When we  find the differences, we by and by give up the Islamic aspect because of the differences of opinions, and succumb to secular thinking.
We want to be Muslims but not Islamic. We think being totally Islamic is "fundamentalism" and "extremism".

No, Islam is very clear. Allah says " haram is clear and halal is clear " ofcourse there will be places for difference of opinions but nothing that will play around with aqeeda -the fundamental belief. this is something every one must know so that no one can con anyone else.
It's time we gave up the apologetic attitude, the excuse of "not having time to learn Islam", the excuse of "use hikma and do not upset the non Muslims" cowardice and go forward in practicing what Allah has ordained us to.
I pray that Allah, Almighty, will bring in an ardent desire in everyone of us to learn His religion so that everything will be done  solely for His pleasure, and that He makes it possible for us to reach our goal.
May Allah always guide us in the straight path.

Subject: [lankamuslims] Unity in Islam & what unites us?

Unity in Islam & what unites us?

On a recent visit to Sri Lanka Former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia has urged the Muslim ummah around the world to unite and be strengthened both on political and military means to defend their rights against oppression. We frequently hear such calls from imam of Macca to concern individuals. Capitalists and enemies of Islam are already made coalition and they are achieving their goals such as invading lands of Muslims and shedding our brothers' blood and sisters honor. After seeing clear tyranny by American led coalition still Muslim world and its puppet leaders once again going after such tyrants for help and peace, we have only witnessed such leaders only became millionaires within a short period of time and nothing helped Muslim Ummah. Another set of group engages in Kufur politics and hoping to over come this situation by Pressurising the coalition leaders such as British. They call this is going with reality, but they failed to realize that after greatest protests America and its alliance waged war against Iraq and still swims on Muslims blood and to what extent Muslims share in Kufur government going to change present situation. Unfortunately Muslims today fail to realize the ideological war between Islam and capitalism and to take action keeping this in mind. More than what Allah has made Halal and Haram, for modern Muslims benefits become the criteria to decide what is Haram and what is Halal. When we come to unity, the problem with Muslims is that, they understand we must unite but fail to recognize what makes us unite and how we can achieve this factor. This is because they derived solution based on mind (Akkal) and they call this is reality. This had led to derive solution such as participation in Kufur system, calling Kafir as intermediates, etc. as Muslims we all proudly say Quran gave us solution to all the problems, but have we looked at Quran and Sunnah to find which makes us unite and how to achieve this? …...

Today's Muslim Ummah has divided by two reasons. First; by Nationalism. Arab nationalism, Turkish nationalism, etc are the cancer and reason behind humiliation that we face today, this is Haram in Islam as Allah (swt) prohibited tribalism and he never made one community better over the other. By birth no one becomes superior. Secondly we are divided in to groups which cannot avoid but danger is that we are much loyal to groups than Islam. Unfortunately today we see Muslims in two extremes, either they never engage in group activities and forget the whole responsibility to the Muslim Ummah or they think the group that may succeed is the one they in, such mentality leads to disunity and purpose of forming a group has lost once this in our mind. Therefore we should engage in a group to serve the Muslim Ummah and must understand how to deal with other groups.

When we look in to groups, the members of a group must have clear understanding on tolerable limits with other groups. Mean time should have clear understanding on correct groups and deviants. Aqeedah (fundamental believes in islam) is the basic principle to decide this. Some groups differ on issue, which necessitates Ijthihad and followers of such act within Islamic limits. They may fall in to different groups but this whole set is considered as brothers in islam. Prophet (puh) foretold Muslim will split in to 73 groups and this is based on Aqeedah and some bring differences among Muslims with lack of understanding towards this Hadith, they think those groups differed on an Ijthihad matter also falls in to this 73 as two separate groups. Fact is both of them fall as one if these groups do not differ in right Aqeedah.

Muslims should understand that Islam allows some disagreements hence must tolerate others opinion, provided that it has been driven from Islamic texts. Group leaders must educate their followers on this issue and its an obligation upon them to insist on unity among Muslims. Unfortunately, today's Muslim brothers are fighting for such opinion differences and call other party deviant and Kafir. Infact calling by these words are the cause for disunity; prophet ordered us not to call a Muslim as Kafir even after witnessing a sin from his side, if this is the case; how could these brothers call another brother Kafir for opinion deference, which indeed allowed in Islam? Fighting for such matter is Haram and sole responsibility must hold by the group heads and they are accountable to Allah for disunity among (right) groups. We can only overcome this situation by informing group members on accepted opinion differences and its presence in Islam. If this is well informed, the discussions to find the valid and best opinion will remain in Ummah without leading to fight and low level arguments. This will maintain the unity among brothers while searching for the truth and they will tend to protect each other even if they belong to different groups.

And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Allah is Mighty, Wise. (9:71)

If we overcome this nationalism and group differences then we simply defeat the major disuniting factors, however still we need a uniting factor to bring us in to one fold. Finding an answer for this is the need of the moment. This solution should not base on our mind but from Islam. i.e Quran and Sunnah

Enough evidences from both Quran and Sunnah suggest this is Khilafah, lets look at here one Ayath which point outs the time we live!

those who disbelieve are allies of one another; unless ye do this ,there will be fitnah and oppression on earth, and great mischief and corruption. (8:73)

It has been mentioned in Tafsir at-Tabari that the best interpretation of this verse:

"And those who disbelieve are allies of one another (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e become allies, as one united block under one Khilahfah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole world) to make victorious Allah's religion of Islamic monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism, killing, robbing, etc) and oppression on earth, and great mischief and corruption." And it is Fitnah to have many Khilahfah (Muslim rulers) as it has been mentioned in shahi muslim by Arfajah who said : I heard allah's messenger (puh) saying " when you all Muslims are united (as one block) under a single Khilahfah ( a chief Muslim ruler) and a man comes up to disintegrate you and separate you into different groups, then kill that man.

Also there is another narration in sahih muslim: narrated abusaid al-khudri (rali), Allah's messenger (puh) said: " if the Muslim world gave the bai'ah (pledge) to two khilahfah ( chief muslim ruler), the first one who was given the bai'ah first will remain as the khilahfah, then kill the latter (the second) one.

So, it is a legal obligation, from the above mentioned evident proof (from the Quran and prophet's statement) that there shell not be more than one khilahfah (a chief Muslim ruler) for the whole Muslim world or otherwise there will be a great fitnah (mischief and evil) amongst the Muslims, the ultimate results of which will not worthy of praise. Infact we witnessing this today!

This is the high time for Muslims to understand this issue and work for it after finding the best method from prophet (puh), as he established the khilahfah and said it will re-establish in his method (ahmed). Moreover this is the permanent solution to all the problems that we face, let it be Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Kashmir and all the other lands that under oppression.

Islamic scholars, leaders, intellectuals and whole Ummah should work for it without any reliance on kuffar (i.e west), mean time should not fear kuffar or puppet rulers. Without providing temporary solution by Haram means such as participation in kufur politics and democracy which infact jeopardize the establishment of Islamic state, they must look into Quran and Sunnah to drive solution. Should not sell Allah's words for small price.

"And now you should not fear the people, but you should fear Me only, do not sell my ayah (signs) cheap and those who rule by other than what Allah has revealed, they are kafiroon (disbelievers)" [ 5:44]

"And hold fast to the rope of Allah and be not divided"
