The 1.2 firmware changes how the appliances report to SP. They no longer use the older, more complex registration and key exchange system. They use the simpler "Desktop Protocol" that relies on a variation of SSL encryption.
You'll need to delete your existing registration. Make sure you have an Agent Manager (or Desktop Controller) running. Then configure the group to manage Agents. Then logon to the appliance using the web gui. Go to the reporting tab and tell it to report to site protector and enter the correct group name. The agent should register itself and then allow you to control it. ----------------------------------------------- Andrew Plato, CISSP President/Principal Consultant Anitian Enterprise Security ----------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gregory Jansen Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 8:52 AM To: issforum@iss.net Subject: [ISSForum] G1200 firmware 1.2 upgrade Hi all, I've recently upgraded a G1200 to the new 1.2 firmware. Since then getting it to communicate properly with SiteProtector has been an issue. When I try to "automatically register software" I get a sensor type of "Sensor" where I used to see "Proventia G-Series." Is this an change that came with the firmware or is it registering the sensor incorrectly? By the way, in order to even get the appliance to register, we had to copy the PubKey's from our db server to the appliance manually.
