I had noticed this possibility, but having had a (quick) look at the
implementation in GSL, I thought that it might be more complicated: They use
several different algorithms, depending on the values of the parameters.
Nevertheless, I'll report your proposal to the user so that he can test whether
it's OK for his intended usage.
