"Obsolete" meant AOO handling of HC (ends up setting HC on desktops with dark
theme but no HC). On modern system, HC is not even a Theme switch (and not even
bound to a dark one, as there are light HC themes). On Windows 11 even the
switch on Settings has been removed and HC is handled through contrast themes.
