1. Thanks for the advice. I removed the doctype declaration and it worked!
 
2. Only iText let us easily define our stucture 'easily' in xml. From your remark, does it mean that we may not have the support for this in days to come?

No, it will still work, but when you parse the XML,
don't validate it.

It's not published yet. It will be out in the fall of 2006.
What I meant was: parsing XML into PDF is not a bad idea,
but using the iText tags is probably not the way to go.
