I have seen this question on news://comp.text.pdf The OP has a PDF containing only images, one per page. The page size is very big; I don't know about the file size. I don't know exactly what the OP wants to do. Does he want to change the resolution of the images so that the file size is reduced? Then he needs something like JAI. Or, is he only interested in making the size of the pages in PDF smaller, without bothering about the file size? That's very easy to achieve with iText. Maybe it would be sufficient to change the PDF version and the 'user unit' (I should test this).
