The enterprise version of JPedal is not free.
The other version is GPL.
A colleague at Ghent University has just tested
different viewers because he wants to print a
PDF file. None of the solutions was as good as
Adobe Reader, so he decided to use pdfp which
uses Adobe Reader through DDE.
In short: there are other PDF renderers, but
they are probably not sufficient for your needs.
