         That is correct - but it's no different from any other 
non-embedded font.  Exact rendering requires the EXACT font on the 
display system that was used on the creating system.

         And that's what Adobe realized between Acrobat 4 & 5 - that 
they didn't need to carry around their own copies of the fonts since 
there weren't going to be the exact versions.  Instead, they starting 
relying on the host OS to provide the fonts SINCE THEY would have 
been the fonts used to create the PDF.  Also not 100% (as Helvetica 
and Arial are close, but not exact, etc.) - but better.
