This may require a different strategy - I'm not sure exactly what
processing you are doing.

It may be content within the PDF that is causing the problems - such as
embedded images with strange scaling sizes.

One thing we are doing is to pre-process each PDF to flatten the
incoming document before attempting to process it further - and then
ensuring that we set the default page size and height and width as part
of that post-processing.

This has removed memory stack overflow issues.

In a prior post I had out of memory issues reading large PDF's.  I
changed over
to RandomAccessFileOrArray and the memory errors were replaced with
extremely
slow process.

Small PDF's take hours to process.

Is there anything that can be done to improve the overall performance.
