I did a quick google search for this, apparently the source code is
83megs???
https://pdf-renderer.dev.java.net/
[ again, I'm just trying to get the numbers out of an IRS 1040 pdf file,
which I guess could have been easy has the IRS enabled user rights
or granted any other rights that should have been enabled by default for
me to use the information I typed into what is otherwise an information black
hole ]
I'm going to start using this as a "disclaimer" in my sigfile, written while
waiting
for the download, similar to the legal mumbo
jumbo you often read about "intended recipient" etc etc:
"Note to anyone preparing PDF files for information providing sites: if
you want to provide a pdf file for appearances, carefully consider annotation
or more "primitive" (flexible and simple ) formats in which to make the
information ( which may be more naturally represented as text or images)
available. Where primary sources can be cited, please include links in
appropriate
places and enable and make sure the default settings for authoring tools don't
'protect' ( LOL jumble ) information you wished to make available.
Computers can be used to actually AUTOMATE data processing but
A VIEW IS NOT A MODEL!"
