For backward compatibility.

Another example is the HeaderFooter class.
It wasn't mentioned in the first edition (2006) because
it was no longer advised to use it. For backward compatibility
with applications still using it, it was removed in 2009.

People reading the documentation (the second edition of
"iText in Action") aren't bothered by the presence of
MultiColumnText, and work with ColumnText only because
they've never read anything about MultiColumnText ;-)

Reading the book saves time...
