The reply address was once the mailing-list address, but some weekend long ago an autoresponder answered to the mailinglist that some subscriber was out-of-the-office. This reply was send to the subscriber whose mailsystem autoresponded that the subscriber was out-of-the-office. Before we knew it, hundreds of mails were send to hundreds of subscribers in only a few hours time. I don't know if the mailing-lists @ Sourceforge are protected against this kind of problem.
