provided Adobe tweaks it standard as well

        I've not heard any plans for page-level signing in the Acrobat UI....

But if you were to create such a signature, Acrobat would verify it correctly.


May be the above solution is not as good as it seems :).

To do what you want is VERY complex given how PDF objects works. It's doable, but would require some pretty tricky code to get right...
