no dependency in most cases. Itext writes the PDF file to a file or a stream.
Printing the file is a downstream event unless you direct the PDF stream to
the printer (see pages 581-2 in the book). You'll need to see whether that
is being done in your situation. But barring that, though, you should be OK.
