Indeed it does. Spent too long reading posts about forms and XFA and
assuming it only applied there!!

My method for blocking commenting after the fact is to add just an OWNER
password with a null USER and not allow commenting. Seems to disable the
tools in Reader X.

Thanks

Would I be right to believe that

A: 'Comment Enabling' is in the same box as 'Reader Enabling' and therefore
can not be done with iText but only Acrobat Pro

OK.

B: There is then no way to 'un-enable' that pdf with iText , but only by
Save a Copy. from Acrobat

Is that so?
Doesn't "remove usage rights" remove comment enabling?
We should test that, but note that Adobe Reader X allows commenting!
This makes the option "comment enabling" irrelevant (I think).

C: Adobe have done some slack programming (Acrobat Pro 9) as there are TWO
items in the file menu with the further shortcut 'Y' - Modify PDF Portfolio
AND Save a Copy so if you do Alt+F, Y you do not end up on the desired item

That's a question for Adobe, isn't it? ;-)
