  Try it in this order:

1. Boot Up to your regular desktop
2. Switch back a new Virtual Console "ctrl-alt-F2"
3. type> modprobe ivtv-fb
4. type> startx -- :1 -layout "ivtv tv"
5. "ctrl-alt-F7" brings you back to your regular
   desktop. PVR's tv-out will still show it's KDE
   desktop.
6  "ctrl-alt-F8" gives mouse/keyboard control back
   to PVR's Desktop.  Doing this will blank your
   regular monitor however.
