Hi,
Got it solved somehow... Seems that the composite output of my PVR-350 (rev K257, tuner 38) causes trouble: my TV can not synchronise in a stable manner using the composite output, but with the s-video output it can. So, now I'm a happy man: capture composite in, capture s-video in (from EPIA s-video out on same PC), capture from tuner and s-video output all work great! :-) :-) Seems that I didn't have a tuner/capture problem after all. What got me on the wrong track is that "saa7127 test_image=1" worked fine via composite out...
Maybe my setup works for other people too: [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# uname -r 2.6.9-1.11_FC2 [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# rpm -q -a | egrep -e "(ivtv|kernel)" ivtv-firmware-1.8a-4.at kernel-2.6.9-1.11_FC2 kernel-utils-2.4-9.1.131 ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-4.at perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-6.rhfc2.at ivtv-0.2.0-59_rc3d.rhfc2.at ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-4.at ivtv-kmdl-2.6.9-1.11_FC2-0.2.0-59_rc3d.rhfc2.at
After installation of the rpms from ATrpms I renamed
all kernel modules, in /lib/modules/2.6.9-1.11_FC2/kernel/drivers/media/video/
that did have an equivalent in /lib/modules/2.6.9-1.11_FC2/updates/drivers/media/video/,
to '*.sav'. I do not know whether this solved something, but I mention it
here for completeness...
/etc/modprobe.conf: alias char-major-81 videodev alias char-major-81-0 ivtv #I'm not using the fb yet. That's my next challenge. #install ivtv /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv; /sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb options ivtv ivtv_debug=0 ivtv_std=2 tda9887=0
Regards, Peter.

Did somebody try to capture via S-Video in on a PVR-350
rev K257 tuner type 38, Philips FM1216 ME MK3 (using PAL)? Any luck?
Yes, that works fine here (the tuner is not in use).
Note that it won't always work if you plug the output of one card into the input of another, it depends on how they've arranged their ground levels.
