Can you send me your xorg.conf so I can see if there's something there
causing 1 & 3.

What size recording are you playing. Scaling up works. Scaling down probably
doesn't. You could send me the stuff generated in /var/log/messages when you
start xine with each of these options.

This makes sense but isn't a problem with the way the xv driver works with
ivtv.
