the problem... i ve removed 4STACKS too...
you ll have just to try :)
Okay, can you tell me what exactly is PREEMPT and REGPARM?
Parameters in kernel compilation? Settings for "make menuconfig" ?
I was hoping that I will be able to continue using stock Mandrake
10.1 kernel...
Weird - I'm using a stock Mandrake 10.1 kernel and have never had
such problems... I'm reinstalling now from scratch using 10.2 which
is even easier.
Cheers,

Mandrake has IVTV 2.0 compiled in the kernel as a loadable module.
Please look at my previous post on this topic, you are seeing the
exact same problem I had.

Along with
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/3rdparty/ivtv
these should also be moved out of the way:
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.ko.gz
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/tuner.ko
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/tveeprom.ko
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/tda9887.ko.gz
And, after having done "urpmi kernel-source" do this for 10.1 (make
backups first...:-)):
perl -i.bak -p -e 's/(UTS_RELEASE "[^"]*)custom"/\1"/g'
/usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h
perl -i.bak -p -e 's/(EXTRAVERSION.*mdk)custom/\1/g'
/usr/src/linux/Makefile
Cheers,
-Morten
I didn't have to do any of those additional steps, although I don't use
my tuner.
