Apologies. I have answered my own question by passing the correct tuner option in the /etc/modprobe.d/ivtv file when using the 0.2 version.
Namely: options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 tuner=38 I thought I had tried that before, but I might not have unloaded/loaded the modules correctly. It doesn't answer why the 0.3 version doesn't work, but never mind... ;) Thanks for making a great driver!
