I'm having problems with my Win TV PVR 250, firstly i don't seem to be
able to get a decent signal, i have connected the areal to the main
house areal and on all other TV's in the house i can get a perfect
signal just on my computer i can't seem to get anything half decent, i
can sometimes see a person in the static but no colour. I have spent
quite some time tuning it and have got no were. I have been through all
the frequencys with a modified version of scantv it has picked up a
channel but when i go back to visit that frequency there isn't anything
there :s. I am in the UK so i am using the PAL frequency tables and i
have a PAL tuner in PAL mode.

I was wondering what software i should be using to play the tv,
currently i am using "mplayer /dev/video0" and that seems to work though
a little slow and after a wile i think i am getting a memory leak, in
/var/log/messages it says:
"ivtv: ENC IRQ OVERFLOW: #284 Stealing a Buffer, 2048 currently
allocated" with the # number incrementing

I'm just about to go and get a amplifier, just in case that helps, I
hope you can help me, and here is the log from when i modprobe ivtv:
