Derek,

add this to your modules.conf:

options tda9887 port1=0 port2=0

That should probably fix the problem.
You might also want to add "tda9887=0,0,0" to the ivtv module options. At least that did the trick for me.

Hi,

I am having a problem with getting the sound to work on the newer versions of
ivtv.

To successfully get sound I have to go through the following process:

1. Install ivtv-0.3.2r
2. Do a cold reboot.

At this stage I have video and sound, but the picture is blocky and of a poor
quality. I then:

3. install ivtv-0.3.7b
4. modprobe -r ivtv; modprobe ivtv

I now have a good picture and good sound. However if I warm or cold reboot the
machine I then lose sound ( and have to go through the process again!)

I am not passing any options to the ivtv modules in the modprobe config.

I suspect the reason for the change is because after the installation of 0.3.7b
the 0.3.2r cx25840 module is still loaded, but with the reboot the 0.3.7b
module is loaded.

Does anyone have any reasons / solutions for this?

I have attached the dmesg output for:

  0.3.2r after the cold boot;
  0.3.7b ( step 4 )
  0.3.7b after warm reboot.

Thanks,

Derek.

Cheers,

-Morten
