From reading past posts, is it safe to say that it's probably the motherboard causing my spontanious reboot with my PVR-500 and KT333 chipset? If it matters, all is OK until I try a cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg (or /dev/video1). Then I can get from 1 second to maybe 11 minutes worth of video before it reboots. Can't say why times are different. Also, running Slackware 10.1, Kernel 2.6.10. I start things up with:
modprobe tveeprom modprobe ivtv I'm in hopes that it's possibly the driver or some config error, but I have loaded 0.3.7a and b plus 0.3.6z. All three act the same. Thanks for any help. dmesg follows: Paul Linux video capture interface: v1.00 ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: version 0.3.7 (b) loading ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.10 486 gcc-3.3 ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info ivtv: between the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines when ivtv: mailing the ivtv-devel mailinglist. ivtv: Autodetected WinTV PVR 150 card ivtv: Found an iTVC16 based chip ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:08.0[A] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5 ivtv: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32) tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 23552, rev = D492, serial# = 7805311 tveeprom: tuner = Philips FQ1236A MK4 (idx = 92, type = 57) tveeprom: tuner fmt = NTSC(M) (eeprom = 0x08, v4l2 = 0x00001000) tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3410D (type = 5) ivtv: i2c attach [client=tveeprom[50],ok] ivtv: Tuner Type 57, Tuner formats 0x00001000, Radio: yes, Model 0x00914652, Rev ision 0x00000000 ivtv: NTSC tuner detected ivtv: Radio detected tuner: Ignoring new-style parameters in presence of obsolete ones tuner: chip found at addr 0xc2 i2c-bus ivtv i2c driver #0 ivtv: i2c attach [client=(tuner unset),ok] cx25840: starting probe on adapter ivtv i2c driver #0 (0x10005) cx25840: detecting cx25840 client on address 0x88 cx25840: cx25843-23 found.
