Newbie alert! Having wrestled with this all day, I'm giving up and
asking for help...

My hardware:
PVR-150 nonMCE retail tuner=38 (PCI ID 4444:0016)

My signal:
NTL analog cable, Dublin, Ireland, believed PAL-I

My module options:
modprobe tveeprom
modprobe videodev
modprobe cx25840 i2c_enable=1
modprobe tuner pal=i debug=1
modprobe wm8775
modprobe tda9887 pal=i debug=1
modprobe ivtv

The problem is that the audio comes and goes. After tuning, it can take
upwards of 60 seconds before anything is heard, yet the picture is fine.
This is not volume-related; the sound is there, then gone, then back.
I would be... annoyed if this is due to thermal effects.

For starters, I don't know which audio module is actually responsible
here; I'm loading msp3400, tda9887 and wm8775 (all are mentioned).

After a cursory scan of this (rather active) mailing list, this problem
seems most similar to (Fight Club's?) Tyler Durden's (unanswered) query.
I have not (yet) tried older versions of the ivtv suite.

Cheers,
Phil
