WHOA! is this experience common? I'm trying to setup a Myth system right now (with a PVR-500). My wife will never accept anything with less uptime than her TiVo.
Is this experience common? If so this should be pasted all over the sites a warning.
I haven't had a system crash due to ivtv since I quit using 0.1.9, which was about 18 months ago. Uptimes of weeks and months on end with only occasional reboots to upgrade pieces of hardware. For the last 5 months, since I installed a PVR-500, I've been running a 0.3.x driver which is *supposed* to be unstable, but it's actually more stable than the so-called stable version I was running when I only had two PVR-250's in the box.
The only lockups I had during that entire time was after upgrading to Gigabit ethernet and turned out to be related to the r8169 NIC driver. Switching to an Intel e1000 NIC fixed the problem.
If someone is having frequent crashes with a mythbox, it's not due to the stability of the ivtv driver. They've got some other problem, possibly hardware.
