I've been looking at the tda9887 mess and how to get better autodetection. The
main problem is the tda9887 option > 0. Anyone who has to set tda9887 to 1 to
get their tuner working, can you please test this alternative and report the
result?
Set the ivtv tda9887 option to 0 and add to your modprobe.conf:
options tda9887 qss=0
If I understand tda9887.c correctly, then this should still work.
