First I tried ivtv with - REV 1005A (original BIOS)

Sorry if we seem a little short on details.  Older VIA chipsets have some dma issue that frequently manifests itself as random reboots.  Some motherboard makers never released a BIOS fix for their boards.  For example, the KT266A board I have from MSI never did work with my PVR-250.

Yes, it is.  And we'll do what we can.  Random reboots are unfortunately hard to diagnose and its easy to point a finger at a known problem, the KT133 and KT266 chipsets.  As for a replacement board, you do not have to use Intel chipsets, I find that my nVidia chipsets work very well under Linux.
