Hi Annette,

Iv you active the verbosity settings for outlook and arrow down, there's a
setting for turning on flags. Then jaws will tell you what flag colour is
set.

Also, If you're using outlook 2003, the follow up folder I mentioned groups
messages according to flag colour so it does tell you when you've moved from
red to blue and so on.

How do you get JAWS to work with the colored flags?

Hi Margaret,

I don't use OE anymore but rather outlook. I use flag messages every day
and it is recognised with Jaws.
What is more, if you are running outlook 2003, there's a "follow-up folder"
so that when you flag a message, it automatically shows up in that group.
After the flag is cleared, then it disappears from that folder, but is still
in your original folder.
I use different coloured flags for different reasons and I especially love
the "add reminder" choice which allows me to flag a message and add a date
and time for the message to remind me to deal with it.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Q. flaggin messages

I think flag messages might be a bit different from high priority etc.

I saved an old post from 2002 from debbie Scales on the old JFWlite
list:

Rex, here is what it is used for but jaws doesn't recognize the flag at
least not in XP with 32 bit color.

Flag a mail or news message

To flag an e-mail or news message

When you receive a message, you can flag it for later reference.
List of 2 items
. In the main window, click in the flag column next to the message you want
to flag.

-or-
. In the main window, select the message you want to flag and from the
Message menu, click Flag Message.
list end

 Notes
List of 3 items
. You can sort all flagged messages and group them together by clicking the
flag icon in the header of the flag column.
. You can remove the flag from a message by clicking the flag icon.
. You can define a rule that flags certain messages when they are received.
list end

I don't know if we can use the flag messages feature with the newer
versions of JAWS that have come out since the post was written and I think
it was still OE 5.x then. I'm behind on my caffeine consumption and haven't
experimented. Plus, I haven't tried out JFW 8 yet and don't know how well
it works with OE.

It's just meant to get your attention, like a high priority message I

Hi, everyone. Simple question, probably. What does flag message mean?
