I had the same problem today when I closed the Internet streaming radio site
which I outlined in the message below. This time I had just Eloquence as a
speech synthesizer. Trying to unmute speech had no effect; JAWS was stuck
with what I'd been reading at that moment on the braille display; and when I
eventually unloaded and reloaded JAWS there was no speech (and no Braille)
from JAWS, until I shut down and restarted my computer.

SAPI5 in Internet Explorer and Eloquence elsewhere), and an Internet radio
online streaming site with Internet Explorer 11. While listening to said
streams, I mute JAWS speech with JAWSKey+SPACE, s; and use my braille
display to navigate. (Windows7.) A few times, when closing the streaming
site and unmuting JAWS speech, JAWS has not come back up talking, and no
Braille either. I have been able to get NVDA up and running, using SAPI5,
and Kurzweil 1000; but no JAWS. To get JAWS running again, I had to shut
down and restart the computer, because no unloading/reloading JAWS worked.
I am now using Eloquence in Internet Explorer, and have no problems. The
problem only happened between the latest JAWS and SAPI5 in Internet
Explorer; not in previous JAWS.

I once a week go to NVDA to keep my skills it. This is Windows 10 and as

really cause then the computer freezes up, no mouse no moving a key.
Now if I do NVDA whilst in Jaws no issue. The only thing different? I
up-dated Jaws 18 newest release through do you want and Added a Windows 10
APPS Bose-Sound-Wave, to get AM and FM on my unit down stairs. Does anyone
have any ideas on this Jaws 18 freezing up the computer and nothing else is
open Why it might be doing?
