Yes, I use the laptop layout with JAWS all the time. We need to know which numpad commands you need to use, and then I can give you the laptop equivalent commands. For example, numpad enter is the same as regular enter. With the laptop layout turned on, you can use the caps lock as well as insert. You can use both. Caps lock+comma reads the current character. Jaws has, numpad equivalent keystrokes for laptop users that don't have numpads, but since I don't know didley about using a laptop I can't help y'all with the correct keystrokes.
