If it's not working properly, try insert space bar, the letter o, then the
letter d. If you haven't already. I didn't go through this entire thread.
If you have open book, try the freedom import reader.

Some pdf's contain both 'straight' text and imaged text. Therefore only the
straight text is read by a screen-reader (when not using OCR).

I tried this, but had no luck with the particular documents I've been
working with.

Once again, the only way I could get the full document was to run it through
Jaws Convenient OCR, and then copy and paste it into a notepad text file.

Not quite sure why the usual strategies haven't worked in the case of these
documents.

When you get the reading untagged document dialog from Acrobat, select read
whole document and then you may press insert down arrow and read
continuously once all pages have been processed.

Hi Tom

To move to the next page in a PDF document press control+down arrow. To
move to the previous page, press control+up arrow.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problem Advancing Beyond First Page Of PDf Articles

Hello, everyone.

I am having a problem reading a few PDF articles I have just been sent.

Once I open the attachments, via Adobe Acrobat DC, I find that I cannot
advance beyond the first page of each article, either via the arrow keys, or
the page up and page down keys.

Interestingly, when I use my arrow keys and the page up or down keys, the
visual sscreen advances with no problem. In other words, Jaws appears to be
stuck on the first page and is unable to advance through the rest of the
file.

I'm using Windows 7 and the latest build of Jaws 18 here, along with Adobe
Acrobat DC.

Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan
