Miriam: The only suggestion I have at this point is to hit enter on the item you get when you try to open Outlook in safe mode.
For me, it says something like Outlook 1, and if I hit enter on it, I'm put in safe mode. Why this is all so necessary is beyond me. If you can't get things to work, I'd call Freedom Scientific Tech Support. I'm saying this for two reasons: 1. They really should help you with your issue, as they helped me; and 2. The more people alert them to this issue, the higher it will become on their priority list of things to fix. Please keep me posted, and let me know how things turn out for you. Each time I try, it tells me I have to identify the switch I'm using or something like that. I was out, turned off the computer, came back, found your message, tried to open a message with an address, and couldn't. Then I tried to follow the directions that I followed yesterday and they don't work today. Yesterday, you may recall that I was told by Freedom Scientific Tech Support that the best way to solve the issue of Outlook Crashing when entering addresses into the "to" field of a new e-mail message was to put Outlook in safe mode. This is continuing to work for me, although I must add that if you shut your computer down for any reason, you will have to go back into Outlook and put it back into safe mode. Apparently, the safe mode setting isn't saved, as I have just discovered.
