So far I have it installed and playing video files as well as audio files. I've tried it with .AVI, .MKV, .wav and MP3. so far working fine. "choose another app" or "choose another default app" or similar. from the next window you'd choose VLC, but make sure to check the check mark, that allows that app to always open that file type, then press the OK button. forgive my lame English.
