Well, you might be right. I had some sighted assistance a little while ago. We went into the control panel and checked on a few of the sound card settings. After that, things improved slightly.
Then, I took the computer out of the docking station I use, and put it back in. Now the computer seems to be functioning much more normally. Don't know what might have happened. All I know is that the problems I had earlier occurred after the latest Jaws update. Whether or not the update is truly related to what I experienced is still unclear to me. Perhaps the update temporarily messed with some sound card or other configurations. Has anyone had these problems with the latest update, and if so, what did you do to address them? This computer is a Dell business-grade computer, and I've never experienced problems like this before from the many Jaws updates I have done over the years. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to call Freedom Scientific again in the morning if I have no luck between now and then.
